For many, it's a rite of summer -- the annual trek to South Park or Hartwood Acres, picnic basket and kids and dogs in tow, for an evening of music as night falls.

The Allegheny County Parks Department's summer concert series offers free performances by a wide spectrum of national and local performers.

This year, the Pittsburgh Blues Festival, which raises money for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, moves to Hartwood Acres for three days.

Concerts start at South Park at 8:15 p.m. and at Hartwood at 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
